BBC Radio Kent live session

On Sunday 1st March 2020, we played a live radio session for Doug Welch’s ‘Kent Folk’ show on BBC Radio Kent to mark the launch of our debut album, ‘Double Rainbow’, by ‘Ian Roland & The Subtown Set’. Thank you, Doug and Team #folk #americana #radio #bbc #newmusic www.ianroland.com
Photos from the Union Music Instore
I knew Union Music Store in Lewes would be the ideal place to launch our album ‘Double Rainbow’ so a few months back I decided to chance my luck and go ask the owners of the shop if we could do an in-store. I was a bit daunted by this task because one of the owners is a song-writer whose work I have admired over many years, namely Danny Wilson of ‘Grand Drive’, ‘Danny & The Champions of The World’ , ‘Bennett Wilson Poole’…Have a listen and you’ll begin to understand how I was feeling when I walked in to the shop…(nervous)

Well, I made it in to the shop and Danny made me feel so welcome and said ofcourse we could play an instore! Which we did, on Saturday 29th Feb 2020 at 1pm… Thank you so much, Danny, and co-owner, Del Day, for letting us play in your fantastic record shop. We had a great time…Here’s a video Josh Lewis (JR Lewis Films) filmed for us on the day…

Boo Hewerdine at Railway Roots
I jumped on a floor spot to play a couple of songs before Boo Hewerdine’s fantastic show at Railway Roots on Thursday 6th Feb. Such a brilliant night, with Robb Johnson, Mike Reinstein, Roger Stevens, Andy Melrose doing spots as well as others…
Railway Roots is a great club run by singer-songwriter, Robb Johnson. It happens on the first Thursday of every month, from 8pm to 11pm at The Railway Inn, Boundary Road, Portslade www.railwayroots.co.uk
